I might be in the minority here, but I never knew of Butler Shaffer nor his writings. I first encountered and enjoyed *your* writings, Bretigne, without knowing you had a father who was involved in freedom advocacy. I imagine almost all of this will be new to me.
I only became somewhat familiar with Butler over the last few years of his life. I had come across multiple, wonderfully-written essays he wrote for the Mises Institute. His name stood out in my mind as there are not too many Butler's out there, especially in Freedom Land! For awhile after I met you, I didn't even realize he was your dad. One day it suddenly clicked! Lol
Anyway, lovely what you've done in his memory. I wish I could've met him...
Very nice. I remember that whenever I'd see his name on a new column at LewRockwell.com, I knew it would be something good, and I can't recall him ever disappointing. Just did a search on my file of notable links and see that I saved more than three hundred of his, beginning in 2004, and ending with very sad ones that include R.I.P. A new look at your favorite of his writings (and/or audio) would be very welcome.
thank you so much for making his thoughts available. And for the loving picture with a granddaughter. More will be coming to you.
This is probably the best, most thoughtful talk he ever gave. . . and my favorite.

I hope you enjoy it! I suspect you will.
